WORLD VOICE DAY -APRIL 16

Every year on April 16, otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons and other voice health professionals worldwide join together to recognize World Voice Day. World Voice Day encourages men and women, young and old, to assess their vocal health and take action to improve or maintain good voice habits. The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery has sponsored the U.S. observance of World Voice Day since its inception in 2002.

Prof.Roopa Nagarajan to serve as the President of ISHA !

Mangalore, February 2, 2008: The Three day national level speech and hearing conference began here today with an assurance for constituting a speech and hearing council at the national level. Chairman of the Central Administrative Reforms Commission M. Veerappa Moily gave this assurance.

The conference has been organized by the Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA). During the next three days the conference will witness presentation of 200 papers by audiologists and speech pathologists, students and researchers coming from all over the country.

The outgoing president of the association Vijayalakshmi Basavaraj handed over the charge to Roopa Nagarajan at the inaugural ceremony.On this occasion N. Rathna oration award was conferred on Audiologist and Speech Pathologist S. Manoharan of Tamil Nadu, S. Kumareshan oration award to Audiologist Geetha Gore of Maharashtra and Bharath award given to past presidents to P.K. Chowdhary of Kolkota.
